Experience
Griffin Cochrane & Marshall was formed in 1980 with the goal of providing legal services to the construction industry. Today, the firm continues to focus its practice on serving construction clients with projects ranging from coast-to-coast and beyond. The scope of our services to the construction industry is equally broad -- from over-the-phone advice and direction to handling a $500+ million lawsuit involving hundreds of potential witnesses and one million documents. Between those extremes, we perform a full range of services for our construction clients, including bid protests, negotiation and preparation of contracts, advice and counsel during contract performance, dispute avoidance, claims preparation and analysis, and various forms of dispute resolution.
We represent some of the nation's largest engineers, contractors, subcontractors, public entities, and private owners across the country. We have counseled several Fortune 100 corporations and numerous privately-held companies on construction matters.
The projects on which we have worked are as varied as our client base and include hotels, resorts, casinos, infrastructures, commercial, industrial, process, retail, residential, and public works facilities. We have resolved disputes in large hotels, casinos, power plants, fiber optic installations, hazardous waste landfills, and tunnel contracts. The diversity of our client base and the types of construction matters we have handled enable us to approach problem-solving from a broad base of knowledge and experience. In short, we understand construction and the problems that arise when building a project.
